Ornella Dufay is a choreographer, dancer from Toulouse (FR), based in Amsterdam. She graduated from ArtEZ Institute of the Arts with a Bachelor in Dance in July 2021 Alongside her work as a performer. Ornella has also started to create her own work. She and her partner Rosie Stebbing from Irland created the piece ‘TEST 1’ that won the Judges prize award 2022 of the Dublin Fringe Festival. Right after that she participated in the Brussels Dance Contest at the festival Antigone where her solo ‘Love Me’ won the Jury’s prize of the 2022 season. Therefore, she is invited to create a 20min piece during the festival Antigone for the season 2023 in december. She is currently in the process of the creation of the piece.
Unleash
This piece explores the toll of suppressing emotions and individuality due to societal pressures. In “Unleash,” we depict a man’s struggle to maintain a perfect image, revealing hidden turmoil. Collaborating with Marc Euvrie and Virgil Ciano, we invite the audience to reflect on their own repressed emotions.
