Orbital is the Dunja Jocić Foundation’s residency program for students and emerging artists. It offers time, space, and guidance to develop choreographic ideas while also addressing presentation, promotion, and the practical skills needed as an independent maker.

Goblinification by Zacquel Phipps
This year’s Orbital maker is Zacquel Phipps, a student at the Amsterdam School of the Arts. His evening, Goblinification, explores the “post-human” shaped by technology and consumer capitalism.
The evening unfolds as a collaborative effort in (dis)harmony with sound, visuals, movement, and (un)spoken word.
Background
Zacquel Phipps is a student of the Expanded Contemporary Dance Department at the Amsterdam School of the Arts. With a background in contemporary and Afro-Caribbean dance, and in writing, his work moves between anthropomorphism, surrealism, animism, meta-modernism, Afro-Caribbean history and culture, and the body as a socio-political tool.
Collaborators
Jasmine Urie, Andrea, Esyla, Déborah, NANA, marusha, Elisabet Liisu, BBBwithLuv, Mushroommosis, R^Y, Troy Florent, Rokas Bugys.
Pay What You Can
We work with a pay what you can policy: you decide your own contribution based on your means. This keeps the event accessible to everyone and supports the artists.
